Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, inviting you to take a journey looking deeply inside of yourself. I have been licensed since 1989 , and obtained my masters degree in clinical psychology in 1985. Since then I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental treatment, and with different populations. I currently mostly work with adults suffering from anxiety and affective disorders.
I attended the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree in psychology, and had the opportunity to engage in numerous internships . My work in an inpatient psych unit at the University of Michigan Hospital was eye opening, as I learned to be around people who had attempted to take their lives. I had the opportunity to work in a medium security prison in Milan, Michigan where we discussed social skills, and emotional development with the inmates. I have also worked with children in a daycare setting, engaging in observation, and clinical intervention with tantrums, conflicts, etc.
I moved to southern California after my graduation from the University of Michigan, and pursued my masters degree in clinical psychology at the California Graduate Institute in Westwood, California. I engaged in completing 3000 hours of training working with individuals, families, couples and children. The venues where I worked included a community clinic, a residential treatment center for adolescents, and private practice.
I employ a variety of treatment modalities (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy), and most recently, have received training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing(EMDR). I have completed the basic training, and working to become certified. This is a modality that is used to treat trauma.
I always like to know what the person in front of me wants to work on, what is important to them. Making changes in one;s life takes commitment, and hard work. I am here to guide and support you during this amazing process.

Sad she's leaving better help but glad I had her. She helped a lot. Thank you Ella.
she is really good ! love her a lot
Ella has been an amazing support for me through a very difficult time. I highly recommend her. She is extremely positive and engaging. I can’t thank her enough.
Ella is receptive and helpful.
I haven't had contact with her for long, so I can't say much, but so far she's been very understanding and is a very good listener. She does seem really interested in helping, which is a big help in itself.
She responds in a timely manner and seems like she is actually paying attention to what is said.
Ella has been nothing but considerate and really a good listener, I was extremely nervous starting counseling since I had some concerns about it but upon first impression, I wasn't nervous or anxious about talking to her and it really helps to have someone to listen who is open to understanding.
Ella Weiss is the only counselor I have ever felt comfortable with. One with no judgement. I appreciate her help. I can see the effect she has in me.
Ella is a great therapist! She is receptive, understands what I’m going through, and has offered some solid advice and counseling thus far. I am looking forward to continuing my healing journey with Ella.
