About Me

Life always throws us curveballs. You can do everything to set yourself up to thrive, but life happens. The key to making it through life’s obstacles isn’t by fighting or avoiding them. It’s about learning to build resilience. By resilient, I mean having the right coping tools/skills to help yourself on the days you are struggling.
I have a Master’s in Counseling with over 15 years’ experience working with adolescents, young adults, and women experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, grief, loss and family dynamic issues. My experience is varied and across many different settings. I have provided individual, group, and family therapy, in residential treatment programs, outpatient hospital programs, and private practice settings. This has provided the opportunity to work with a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.
Like everyone else, I have struggled in trying to be happy. It has taken me a long time to learn how to make my own happiness, and figure out “my life.” The process was difficult, and I faced many “highs and lows.” But, these experiences have made me the person I am today which is an extremely empathic, compassionate and honest person.
My approach is based on your life issues and the support you’re seeking from therapy. I use cognitive behavioral theory as well as strength-based and solution-focused approaches. I will adapt each session and interaction to meet your unique and specific needs by using approaches that bring results.
I can help you maneuver through the obstacles you are facing and would like to support you through your journey.

This is my first time using online counseling and Ellen has been a great resource for encouragement and support during our sessions. Looking forward to applying some of her recommendations and hopeful for the future!

I feel understood and my emotions are heard and cared about by Ellen. I have only had two sessions but they have made an impact on me in more ways I believed therapy ever could.

Ellen gets me like none other! She’s incredibly patient and kind. She can listen and help me through my thoughts without being a judge and then wheel me back into learning about my great heart and intention. Love her ❤️
