About me

I am a 36-year-old Ohio native with over 3 years of experience as a clinical counselor. I have practiced clinical counseling in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As an inpatient counselor at The Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry, I treated clients with a wide variety of mental illness. I worked extensively on the Crises Stabilization Unit and the Co-Occurring Disorders Unit – helping clients who struggled with mental illness and substance use. Later in my career, I counseled undergrad, graduate, and law students at Fordham University. I have experience counseling clients in individual, group, couple, and family settings. I have worked with clients in all phases of life, from those in severe distress to those struggling with common depression and anxiety issues. My educational and formative background have helped me to develop a unique skill set as a therapist who excels in the art of discernment. My Master’s degrees in the fields of counselor education and philosophy assist me in helping clients formulate important questions to help them become more aware of how their habits and overall outlook on life impact their mood and behaviors. I believe in a strength-based, person-centered approach to therapy. Every client deserves to be treated with an attitude of unconditional positive regard. In addition, I consider a strong dose of empathy, compassion, and an attentive ear to be fundamental to the therapeutic relationship. I find the instillation of hope to be the key to recovery and the best predictor of positive treatment outcomes. I would be honored to accompany you at this time in your life. Thank you.
