Change can be hard. Having the courage to reach out and discuss your inner pain and anxiety is the first step.
I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor from Syracuse, New York. I received my Masters Degree from Canisius College in 2011. I have worked with clients from residential facilities, inpatient, outpatient, and in the community for the last seven years. I have experience with: Women’s Issues, Suicidal Ideation, Self-Harming, Creating better coping skills, Codependency, Career Counseling, Anger Management, and Addiction.
I believe each person has their own pace, and am willing to find therapies and strategies that work for you. My approach is open minded and down to earth. I find that it is important to meet people where they are at, and develop a safe therapeutic relationship. My specialty is Cognitive Behavioral, Person Centered, integrating healing and other holistic models.
I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I'm an advocate of mental health issues, and support American Foundation for Suicide Prevention each year.
When I'm not with clients I enjoy: traveling, taking photos, musical theater, concerts, and watching movies at home with my cat.
I am glad you are taking this step towards change. I look forward to working with you.

Emilia was very helpful with helping me figure myself out. I’ve been going through a hard time and she was there for me whenever I needed support. It’s nice to have someone listen to your problems without judging you and give professional advice on it.
Emelia and I are still in the early part, but she's been great thus far: thoughtful, compassionate and willing to listen. I'm looking forward to continuing our dialogue.
Finally I can empty my tons of garbage on my head, there's a lots of it! Thank you Emelia for patience and understanding!
