About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received their education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia before moving to North Carolina. Since entering the mental health field, I have made it my priority to create a safe environment conducive to healing. By taking an intersectional and individual approach, my hope is to allow client's to be their true, authentic selves. In particular, I concentrate on providing accepting and affirming services for LGBTQi+ individuals with expertise in transgender and non-binary identities. I also have experience and expertise in implementing couples/relationship therapies around non-conventional family dynamics such as polyamorous relationship structures.
Some of my other therapeutic specialties include identity development, approaches to address emotional dysregulation, grief processing, skills building, and evidence based practices for addressing issues around negative thoughts and behaviors. Modalities that I use or have experience in implementing include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and trauma-informed/focused methods.

Emil has been amazing to me. I know sometimes I’m not the best client but even then he is always there for me. Sometimes I just need a vent and he’s there. Then after I cool off he gives me some tools to help me in the future. I’m really glad he is my counselor!
