Emily Jamison, LICSW, LCSW
About me
I am an individual and family therapist licensed in Minnesota and North Carolina with over 13 years of experience working as a social worker and therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, marital issues, and life transitions. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. It is my hope to partner with you to bring about change that will last in your life, far beyond our time together. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, narrative, and solutions-focused counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. You have the skills and knowledge on your own; I am here to help you find and utilize them in the most efficient way possible.
At this time I am able to provide live chat sessions and messaging. Many people find this to be a helpful way to process what they are going through, while others prefer phone or video. If you prefer phone or video sessions, you will need to be matched with another therapist.

Reviews

Emily is so easy to talk to! I’m so grateful that I was matched up with her. I haven’t done much therapy outside of BetterHelp but messaging her through text allowed me to really open up and be honest- maybe even share more than I would normally, had we been face to face. Emily always responds with something so insightful and she’s so well articulated. She’s honest with me but gentle in her delivery, really making me feel like I’m being validated in my emotions. I always feel relieved after speaking with her- no matter what mood I was in at the beginning of the session. I can’t recommend her enough!

My time with Emily has been truly life saving. She was very thoughtful, caring, and respectful of everything I had to say. She gave me ownership over my healing process and sorting things out with my anxiety. Really just helped me make sense of everything when I felt overwhelmed and helpless. I would recommend Emily to my closest family and friends in the blink of an eye.
