About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Georgia and North Carolina with 8 years of experience in the field. I have worked in several roles to include therapy, case management and administration. My experience allowed me to work with all ages: from newborns to the elderly. It also allowed for working with individuals and their families in various settings: home, community, and medical environments. I understand the importance of working with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members in order to asses and address areas of need. History has allowed me to work with a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, severe and persistent psychiatric illness, relationship issues, career challenges, self-esteem, stress and grief . Unaddressed trauma can lead to physical and mental health, to include all of the afore mentioned conditions.

The therapeutic relationship is foundational for successful counseling outcomes. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. My approach is patient centered and individualized. Though there is no one set approach for change, I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing.

It takes courage to seek change and take steps towards improvement. Congratulations on taking the first step of change by recognizing you have a need for that change. If you are ready to take that second step of action - I am here to support and empower you.

Emily has been awesome. I signed up for therapy during a really low point in my life, not knowing that even harder times would come a few months later. But with Emily’s guidance and support, I’ve felt more equipped to face the challenges and to improve my mental health even when life gets tough. She’s understanding, thoughtful, and truly a pleasure to work with!

I'm new to this & have had a couple live sessions. But I am thourghly thrilled with the competence & secure comfort I find in her abilities. She's all around great & can guide you through many different issues. I'm so thankful for her. & I'm impressed by the helpful reminders/interactions in between our live sessions. It's the perfect balance. :)
