About Me

Eric Danielson, MSW, LCSW, USA (Ret.)

Hello and thank you for considering me to walk alongside of you in this journey of increased wellness. I very much enjoy helping others overcome their challenges in order to step into greater degrees of freedom and I have been helping people overcome the wounds caused by trauma and the stress response for over twenty-five years. As such, for those that choose to share this journey with me I work quickly to establish a a safe judgement free environment.

I have been married to my wife, Angela for seventeen years and together we have a 23 year old adult married son with our first grandchild who is three and second on the way, a fourteen year old daughter and a ten year old son.

I love to spend time with my family, riding horses, shooting weapons, hiking, camping, and biking, reading and writing (little to no arithmetic, lol).

My commended unique clinical approach (often shared with me as “you get it”) is the culmination of years of both personal and professional experience.

First as a seventeen year Army DUSTOFF Flight Medic, and then as an OEF/OIF/OND certified peer support and prison corrections medical specialist and now as a clinical professional of nine years.

While I am currently one class shy of having a minor in conflict resolution, currently pursuing a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have also begun to look at a degree in Pastoral Counseling.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude and with honors (in both undergraduate and graduate school despite significant challenges from learning how to re-read because of two TBI's sustained in the military) and I hold both a Bachelor of Social Work from Lewis Clark State College and a Master of Social Work from Boise State University.

After working with the Department of Defense, a non profit specializing in trauma and addiction as a co-occuring treatment clinician and in a Vet Center in the Department of Veterans Affairs, close to four years ago I created a veteran start up trauma and addiction clinical practice with an initial emphasis on service members, veterans and first responders.

My inspiration and passion for seeing others live out true freedom has been developed and cultivated both from my own road of recovery and highly influenced by my own journey of personal faith (learning how to challenge my negative views of spirituality was instrumental in my own recovery). As a result, this foundation has now been integrated into what I have been honored to learn and celebrate with my newly diverse patient load (service members, veterans, first responders, special operators and their families, loggers, bikers, cowboys, teenagers with esteem and/or trauma, Christians that desire a biblical emphasis, business professionals, legislators, marriages, etc) after opening my private practice.

As such, you can see that nothing is wasted. I learn from every client and I add these professional and clinical experiences thru an integrated, multi-systems (holistic) approach. While, I am open and honest about the struggles and challenges I have experienced and had to overcome from my military career and while I make you the subject matter expert of your life, I use this resilience and other personal examples from previous patients to not only relate to your challenges but to also foster hope and increased motivation for you to make the change or changes you desire.

It is in this way that I have found it best to walk alongside of you and help you put one more foot in front of the other to challenge any areas of pain or avoidance that have contributed to the cycles of defeat that you have continued to experience in your life thus far.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Eric Danielson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Written by P.E. on Jun 04, 2021 after therapy with Eric for 3 months on issues concerning addictions, relationship issues, and intimacy-related issues

Eric is both extremely well qualified and read, but also very empathetic and non judgmental. He has walked with me on my journey to better health for over 3 months now. He has many good suggestions to give for coping and healing. He met me where I was at and worked from there.
He has been open and honest from his own life.
As a Christian he speaks scripture and truths over me and prays for me. He reminds me of who I am in Christ and what he's done for me. This has enabled me to stop hating myself and start forgiving myself. I am more and more full of joy and peace. I look forward to more freedom and obedience in Christ.

Eric is down-to-earth and made me feel very comfortable talking about my life and struggles. I have already seen huge improvements in my mental health because of him!

Work with me!
