About me

Eric Yelsa, Ph.D. completed his degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles California in 1995. He then went on to complete postdoctoral hours specializing in ADHD. He spent 3 years as the Rehabilitation Psychologist fr Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah where he developed a comprehensive pain management program for youth struggling with chronic pain. He then went on to work more specifically in chronic pain and comorbid psychiatric/medical issues with the University of Utah Medical Center between the years of 2004-2017. He also has experience with neuropsychological assessment, was on the Utah Executive Board for the Utah Psychological Association and conducted return to work psychological assessments for professionals who had complaints filed against their license. Currently he provides services through the University of California San Diego as well as managing a private practice. He is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and utilizes a number of strategies to assist clients in managing their focus, mood stay and improve their level of tolerance to meet their goals. Personally he is often considered a team player and using humor as part of his therapy approach.
