Hello, my name is Erica Eisel. I have always loved the idea of therapy and getting to be an individual who has the privilege of hearing and helping someone in a vulnerable position. Seeking out therapy can be one of the biggest challenges we face due to this vulnerability. Especially when we are trying to find someone we “click” with. Our goal will be to build our therapeutic relationship to the best of our abilities in order to facilitate the kinds of changes you want to see in your life. We can make it happen, with the right connection and the right amount of energy and effort put in, you totally and completely have the ability. You’ve already stepped at least once in the right direction by ending up here!
My approach is based in cognitive and behavioral processes with the person-centered atmosphere. You direct where you want us to go and I happily listen, assist, interpret, and suggest. I really enjoy looking at our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as parts of us that run the here and now; our automatic responses, the not-so-automatic responses, the sudden overwhelm of a feeling we can’t identify, the actions we take that we cannot break the habit of. I also love identifying what is actually working for us in a healthy way and giving ourselves a pat on the back for it!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have over 4 years of experience working with individuals as well as group therapy. I have experience working for non-profit agencies who bring in people from all walks of life with issues ranging from daily stressors to chronic disorders. I have worked with many individuals with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, schizophrenia, as well as substance use issues.
My goal for you is to be functioning at your best capacity, whatever that means for you. We can figure it out together! We can explore your current lifestyle and stressors and see how we can adjust. We can also go back and discuss the past and how it may have affected you. Overall, we will set the most realistic goals we can and determine the best ways to get there. Erica has been a support system for me from day 1. She has been understanding and caring, asks me questions and pin points a lot of the issues I’ve been having with just a question or two in between. Erica is the best counselor I have ever had. She always listens to what is going on with you, along with getting down to the issue at hand to help you get to where you need to be.
I was very skeptical of online therapy because I hadn’t worked with anyone I connected with. Then I started working with Erica and things have really turned around. She is kind and understanding while also keeping a realistic view on life. She doesn’t push worksheets or assign homework. She actually works with me during sessions to work through not only current issues but past events that could be the cause.
