I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of providing life guiding Christian principles, mental health, and substance abuse counseling and education. I have worked with individuals and families dealing with various problems to include depression, anxiety, self esteem, and addictions.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1999 and my Master's Degree in Social Work in 2005. I gained my experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings with clients diagnosed with severe mental disorders and substance use disorders. I am trained in evidence based Bible Based Therapy. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused therapy which which align with The Word of God. The 5 years I spent in the U.S. Army helped build my character and ability to interact with different cultures.
I believe in the power of God to change any situation. I believe in meeting people where they are. I believe part of my role is to help clients see their own power and ability to make the changes needed to improve their lives. My counseling style is compassionate and direct with a focus on helping clients to break down the mental and spiritual barriers preventing them from achieving their goals. I do not believe in labeling individuals. A person is not their diagnosis.
I am committed to working collaboratively with individuals as we work together on developing a treatment and action plan that will lead to positive changes. I believe that good therapy should lead to change.
I understand that it is not easy to ask for help. My Christian background gives me the ability to help clients face challenges with confidence. I want to be of service to those in need, let me help you today.

It feels good talking to someone about our problems. I was not thinking I had a drinking problem, but talking to Erica has helped me to understand that I am addicted to alcohol and I must do something about it..
