About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 23 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients from a multitude of backgrounds and ages, addressing many different issues, including but not limited to reproductive issues, infertility, perinatal mental health, adoption, pregnancy and infant loss. I also have extensive experience in autism spectrum disorders and gastric and/or bariatric surgery (pre and post operation issues), food addiction and other eating disorders. I really enjoy understanding how the mind and body interact with each other and treat each other. One of my favorite quotes was spoken by Hippocrates and I quote “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

If I do not know an answer to your question, I will admit it and do my best to find that answer and we can learn together. I am a seasoned veteran but I know that the more I know....the more there is to learn. :)

I am a Christian and offer services incorporating spiritually based references if you would like to choose this approach. I am respectful of each client's belief's and never push my beliefs on anyone. Rather, I really enjoy learning about the beliefs of others and value getting to know what others believe and how they came to reach their beliefs. My belief in God and connection with Jesus came at a young age when my parents dropped me and my brother off at Sunday School. I came from a rather dysfunctional family and this was a place of refuge. The clergy and staff loved me and the messages of love and salvation brought me comfort and peace. Later in my life I experienced some interesting miracles, which cemented my beliefs in God. I share them openly with others and am happy to share them with you.

My counseling style is a combination of Client Centered or Rogerian and Solutions Based. I strive to help my clients feel supported and empowered. We focus on the present and the future while moving towards resolving issues and achieving goals that you determine to be relevant and important. I like to help others determine the strengths and gifts they have and determine how they can utilize these qualities to assist them in achieving their goals. I will tailor your treatment plan and our dialogue to meet your individual personality and needs. I like to incorporate humor into my approach. Humor certainly makes tough situations a bit easier, right?

I have certain hours set for the live video chat but I do have hours free in the evenings and on the weekends that come up. If you have some time free and would like to do a live video session and do not see that time as open, please send me a message and I try to see if we can make arrangements to schedule something. I want to make sure that your sessions are scheduled for when you need them.

It shows courage and determination to step out of your comfort zone to step into problem solving mode. I admire that spark that brought you to this point. I promise to give you my best care and concern, taking good care of you through this journey. When you are ready, I am here and waiting to assist you in making the changes that will bring you to a better place. Thank you for reading and I look forward to working with you. Many blessings!

Erica is very lovely and knowledgeable. She's never pushy or judgemental. I really appreciate how authentic and very human she is. I've seen too many therapists and some are very cold and one sided, and that is not the case with Erica. Thank you for helping me!

What a wonderful experience, I felt so safe and secure to open up and share about my life . The sessions left me feeling calm and a lot more grounded . Erica was a wonderful listener and always made sure to give me enough space to come to solutions . I am so grateful for all the enlightening wisdom Erica has shared and I really truly am grateful for the shifts in perspective she offered me.

Wonderful person who really can drill down into the problems at the core. Highly recommend.

Erica and I have had only a few sessions together, and although we haven’t delved into serious therapy yet, (due to safety reasons taking priority), she is so compassionate and supportive and generally concerned about my safety that she goes above and beyond her job duties because she is so genuine and caring. And that is so important to me due to my circumstances. I highly recommend her to anyone that needs support and compassion they are lacking due to dysfunctional family members and relationships not being an alternative to turn to.

I was shocked at how well I was matched for Erica. She has helped me so much in a short time with her experience and insight. I am truly grateful.
