Erica Sterling, LPC
About me
I am licensed in New Jersey with 14 years of professional work experience. I worked as a school counselor while becoming a licensed counselor and I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. I believe in a client centered, humanistic approach where a safe, open environment and partnership between us is created and the whole person(s) is part of the counseling process. This means we create the space for all aspects of a person to be present and understood. I utilize an integrative style of counseling, pulling from different techniques that are best suited for a client's preferences and/or needs. These techniques can include CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, and existentialism, to name a few. I believe that I must learn from you first, because you are the person who knows your story. So I begin by listening and understanding and then we process and create awareness together, which leads to growth and evolution. I truly love being a counselor and I look forward to working with you!
