Erika Hill

About Me

Hi, my name is Erika Hill, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have ten years of experience in the mental health counseling field. I am well versed in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I am a doctoral candidate and graduate-level teaching assistant for Counselor Education and Supervision. I received my Master’s in School Counseling and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Services.

I like to use a humanistic approach to help clients focus on the power that is already within them. I mostly use theories grounded in solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, family systems, mindfulness-based intervention, and client-centered. I have worked in settings such as Middle and High School, College and Universities, Behavioral Residential Treatment Centers, and Private Practice. Working in those settings have heightened my experience in working with:
- At-risk youth
-Children with ADHD
-Developmental changes
-Families going through a divorce
-Life transitioning for young adults
-Post-partum depression
-Suicide ideation
-Understanding life after experiencing grief

You have taken a very positive step by deciding to seek counseling. The outcome of your treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may, at times, result in considerable discomfort. Remembering unpleasant events and becoming aware of feelings attached to those events may bring on intense feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, etc. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstance will change. However, I can promise to support you and do my very best to understand you, any negative repeating patterns, and help you clarify what it is that you want for yourself.

Erika Hill has helped me unpack, understand and heal from generational trauma, all things gender identity, my relationship with food, my relationship with myself, and honestly anything that comes up. She makes me feel so incredibly heard and challenges me every single session to get to where I want to be.

Erika has been such a blessing for the past month. Counseling has been something I’ve needed in my life for a while and i’m so relieved I took the leap. Erika is encouraging and trusting and doesn’t let me forget that what i’m feeling is important and relevant. Can’t thank her enough for the support.
