About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a graduate of Arizona State University and Argosy University. Using my undergraduate degree in Justice Studies and my master's degree in mental health counseling, I have worked with a ride range of clients, including under-served populations, clients with severe chemical addictions, teens in residential treatment centers and court ordered clients. I treat a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues and career challenges. I also work with minority populations including people of color and those that identify as part of the LGBTQ community, addressing system challenges in society that can create unique and often challenging situations for many in these marginalized groups.

Loss of jobs, relationships, chemical addiction, life transitions, trauma and abuse and the every day activities of life come with navigating not only our day to day decisions but also the emotions that come along with that, which at some points in our lives can become overwhelming. We start to feel like nothing can get better, and began to self destruct or stay stuck, out of fear of the unknown or poor habits.

My goal is to best assist and support people in living authentic, balanced lives; navigating increased self-awareness in social systems, past experiences, core beliefs and thoughts and their influence on our daily emotional states, behaviors and actions. I want to help you identify new strategies to take charge of your life in healthy, balanced ways. Using solution focused, cognitive and dialectal behavioral strategies, my goal is to blend traditional clinical practices with "non-traditional" holistic and healing practices, as I believe both play an integral role to living healthy balanced lives. I like to explore not only the "clinical" strategies of treatment but also the "less-traditional" approaches exploring the mind-body connection and ways to increase awareness to help you be a better you. I look forward to working with you!

Erika is so to the point, you don't feel like you're just complaining. She really tries to focus on solutions which is why I like her.

Erika has been very helpful with my long term relationship! She always makes sure to check in when she hasn’t heard from me.

Erika has been quite a surprise for me. Things are kind or in turmoil right now so I am a bit of a rollercoaster and she is staying right there with me. If she doesn't hear from me in a timely manner, she will always check in and let me know she is there. She has helped set up 3 goals for me to work on right now, and I am VERY happy with them. They are just what I needed, though didn't know how to verbalize it. I am very happy right now. Things are going well. Being able to help family is a good dose of medicine and for once I am excited to see if I can make it last Either way, I know that she will be there with me. I would HIGHLY recommend not only this BetterHelp, but Erika herself. I am looking forward to the future now, instead of wondering what hit is coming next. Thank you SO much!!
