About Me

Hi there!

My name is Erin Gish-Stiles and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in California. I have been practicing in the clinical social work field for 3 years, and have several years of additional experience working in other helping fields. I graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelors in Psychology, and graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Masters in Social Work. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, grief/bereavement, and more.

In my practice, I use a number of techniques that are tailored to each person, depending on their needs, and what works for them. My experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far, is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your personal struggles. I am a firm believer that self-awareness can assist in growing through difficult experiences . Sometimes another person can offer a new or different perspective or additional support, that can externalize a difficult situation or subject, and it would be my privilege to be that person for you. We, as humans, want to be loved, accepted, respected, and feel listened to and understood. I strive to be both non-judgmental and accepting when someone feels safe enough to share their story or experiences with me. How we interact with ourselves and others, is so important and worthy, and is useful to explore in counseling.

I offer messaging, live chat, video chat, and phone sessions with availability in the evenings and weekends, but please do not hesitate to reach out during the day. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check that out with me through messaging first.

I look forward to working with you!

Erin is compassionate and friendly. She's an excellent listener! I sometimes have trouble expressing my emotions, and Erin has always given me a safe space to express anything that I'm feeling! She is nonjudgmental and gives thoughtful advice and commentary. She will always make sure that you have enough time to address every concern! Thank you Erin :)
