About me

Life happens... and when it does it sometimes comes with an adjustment process that is challenging. The old adage goes "nothing lasts forever". But what happens when life's challenges seem to happen back to back? When you haven't quite figured out the lesson to be learned from the most recent challenge? Or maybe there's been so many challenges that have come your way over and over that you have come to the realization that you don't have the energy to get through this new experience alone. You may even be in the position to where this is nothing new; you are just tired of being tired and you are ready to overcome these obstacles with some help.

Experiencing depression, anxiety, parental stress and other mental health related issues are symptoms to the way you have coped with life changes. They become an "issue" when a resolution has not been reached within your expectation. This is when mental health counseling offers guidance and assistance in your process to heal, grow, and overcome this hump that feels like a mountain. When you decide to begin counseling with me, I can assure you that your mental health needs will be addressed using evidence-based approaches with a personalized plan based on your unique wants and needs. I have been practicing over 13 years and I have a passion for working with people to achieve their goals. As a person who has worked through mental health issues, I can emphasize and understand the mental and emotional burden that weighs on you before making the commitment to take care of your mental health needs. So you are not alone. I will be with you every step of the way. You are courageous for simply taking the steps to do something about what is happening to you.

With that being said, it is important for you to know that I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the State of Oklahoma. In addition to individual services, I have provided group services, as well as virtual trainings with the focus on parenting methods. I have expertise in treating for depression, anxiety, parental stress, parent-child relationship issues, adjustment issues, PTSD, and more. I have received specialized training in trauma therapy, and I have worked with individuals who have a history of emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.

Establishing a healthy connection is important in any relationship, and my style focuses on establishing a safe environment with empathy, compassion, and respect. My approach is to use a combination of methods to achieve this connection and treatment goals. These methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic, family systems, play therapy and interactive techniques, theraplay techniques, and motivational interviewing. My treatment style is flexible to meet your unique needs and wants throughout the course of treatment.

I am honored to support you in your journey towards healing. Again, I understand the courage to make the decision to achieve a more fulfilling and satisfying life for yourself. I admire your bravery and look forward to meeting you soon!
