About Me

Hello! It is wonderful that you are here! Seeking support is important for growth and the discovery of new skills and techniques to better experience the stresses of life. My goal is to help you discover those innate strengths within yourself that will empower you to live within your values and overcome the roadblocks along the way.

I have a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and an MSW from California State University, Sacramento. While completing my coursework at UC, Irvine, I was an advocate for the LGBT community, earning special recognition from the LGBT Resource Center as an ally, and I wrote opinion pieces for two university newspapers with topics often including support for stigmatized persons. In my adult life, I have contributed to a textbook on the topic of oppressive themes in popular media.

My professional experience has included working in domestic violence, HIV, inpatient psychiatry and emergency room settings. I have experience with individuals who have challenges with trauma, self-esteem, substance abuse, anxiety, depression and psychosis. My approach is both humanistic and behaviorist. This means that I will meet you where you are and help you to find strategies to cope and tolerate life's many stresses.
