About me

Hello! My name is Evie (pronounced "eevee.") First, I’d like to tell you a little more about me! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 20 years of experience in diverse areas of practice including Children’s Services, Family Homeless Shelter, Foster Care & Adoption, Crisis and Suicide Assessment, and Community-Based Behavioral Health Services. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work at Concordia College NY, and my master’s of social work degree from Fordham University NY. I have practiced in New York and Kentucky.

While I have worked with those with specific mental health diagnoses, I prefer to focus on your current issues and symptoms. I’ve found this to be more helpful to folks. We might explore how your past could be influencing your current issues. I will then help you formulate your current, and long-term, goals. I see my role not only as therapist but also as cheerleader, educator and healer. I utilize concepts and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness & Meditation, Gestalt/Role play, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

You are a unique and special person! I will tailor my treatment approach to your individual strengths and needs. You are in charge of your treatment, and I invite you to always let me know if we are on the right “track” for you. You might be like me--often in need of changing your negative thoughts to positive ones! If you’ve not been in behavioral health treatment before, you have now taken the hardest step towards seeking help and support. Whether or not you are new to this process, I would be honored to join you in your journey towards Wholeness.

After leaving an abusive marriage and becoming a single mom there was a lot of emotion I had to deal with. Evie was the perfect counselor to help me work through a lot of the grief and feelings I was experiencing. I cannot recommend her enough she is absolutely wonderful and had so many wonderful recommendations and activities to help me heal and start to be excited for my future.

Ms. Evie has been the absolute most amazing counselor I have ever had. With her I was able to find true happiness in myself and accept the things I cannot control. She allowed me to talk freely and without judgment. I truly feel that because of her guidance, I was able to make the hardest choices with ease. She is absolutely amazing.

From the first moment Evie and I just clicked. It's like having a great friend with the wisdom and experience to help guide you through your personal mess. Just knowing that I have her to talk to each week really helps with my anxiety. Having a safe space to talk about my issues is a Godsend. I wouldn't trade her for the world.

When I started meeting with Evie I had no peace. I was continually pulled between so many emotions with no respite day or night. We met weekly and started to unwrap my various situations and with each passing week we addressed more and more. Evie encouraged me to journal multiple times a week to capture the ever changing emotions I was feeling. Once I jumped on board with this everything started to unfold. Here 3 months later it's hard to believe how great I feel. Evie was instrumental in this and I'm so thankful that I was paired with her. Her patience, kindness, honesty, and guidance has helped me get to a place far beyond what I could have imagined. I have clarity in my life in a way I never thought possible.
