About Me

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have been working in counseling field in 2012 . I have experience providing counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in office, and online with client presenting with depression, anxiety, insomnia, low self esteem, marital issues, financial issues, attachment issues, PTSD, teen concerns, parenting concerns, natural disasters anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues.

Each individual is unique, and I modify my interventions based on their specific needs. Everyone is in different journey, and path, and I strive to meet the client depending on where they are, and what they need. Treatment modalities that have worked successfully in my counseling career with clients have been CBT, Solution Focused, Humanistic Approach and Family System.

My Educational Credentials include:

- Golden Gate University, San Francisco
-Certified Parent Project Facilitator

My approach is very simple with my clients. I am non-judgmental, I provide a safe space for you to express your true inner feelings, and I respect your process in addition to supporting you in your journey. If I put all my education, and experience aside what has truly worked for me is to build rapport with my clients, build a sense of safety, and respect. There is a lot going on in this world, and the fact that you are seeking support is already something to be proud of.

I've been talking to Faryal for about 5 months now and wow, what a difference she's made in my mental health journey. Faryal Popal is an incredibly caring, and devoted therapist that can read me like a book even when I don’t know what’s going on within myself. She is helping me resolve deep seated childhood trauma and she continues to assist me in managing and improving my life.

Faryal is patient and listens to your concerns. She takes the time to understand you, checks in often, provides suggestions, positive reinforcement and uplifting words to make you feel heard. She is flexible in her schedule to the extent possible to accommodate your needs, I have enjoyed working with her thoroughly. She understands cultural issues and empathizes with you so you don’t feel alone. She offers advice that is reasonable and practical and not just idealistic. Overall, I would highly recommend Faryal to anyone seeking counseling, specifically people of Eastern cultures where those ideologies are not as well understood by therapists of Western descent.

Faryal is a knowledgeable and down to earth counselor. She takes the time to check in with me and makes sure I know that she is a part of my support system. She reminds me that I'm in the driver's seat of our sessions, and she will always meet me where I am at.

I've been working with Faryal for just about 6 months now. My life has completely changed. I've put in the work, but so much of the work was completed because I had her to there to help every step of the way. She has validated my feelings and helped me regain control of ME. I'm more confident, I listen to myself and I believe in myself more today than I have in a decade. I'm so grateful to Betterhelp for pairing me with her. I've only worked with Faryal for three sessions so far, but we have built a wonderful connection. I like the way that she helps me to work through communication issues and actively listens when we chat. When I message her she is honest and supportive. I highly recommend her!
