Fred S Harris LCSW
I am licensed in Georgia and California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with over 20 years experience. One of my skills is easily developing rapport with individuals from diverse situations and backgrounds. I have worked in community mental health, private practice, on military installations, as a staff member at major research medical centers and with a nongovernmental organization providing services to severely and persistently mentally ill adults.
When working with clients, I am able to draw on a vast reservoir of life experience, professional education and clinical wisdom to help clients work through various issues of concern: adjustment to change, relationship distress, parenting challenges, substance use/abuse, coping with past trauma and facing the reality of unsettling medical events, to name just a few.
What is different about working with me? First and Foremost, you will be treated as a “client” not a “patient”. The focus of engagement will be a conscious intention to understand each individual as they function within their own unique environment. We will emphasize your skills and inner strengths which are often overshadowed by what others may have said are your deficiencies. Methods used will include the integration of traditional Western counseling and therapy strategies with complementary and alternative methods and the ancient wisdom gained from Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda.
Often, making the decision to reach out for help does not come easily and requires courage. I am very skilled at creating an open and welcoming environment allowing clients to identify, discuss and explore life circumstances or situations that are caused by or contributing to the reason for seeking counseling help.
The next step is yours. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

I came to Fred with an agenda but he immediately helped me identify the "real" issue. Nonetheless he advocates for me to be the driver in this journey, and the progress we've made feels life changing. Thank you, Fred.
