I am an experienced Maryland licensed therapist. I have many years working with adults in various stages of life. The people I have helped were living with severe trauma, grief, addiction, divorce, career indecisions, relationship, life adjustment, body image and family problems. When left unresolved, these issues can lead to depression, anxiety, panic and generalized sadness or uneasiness. Sometimes we get stuck and don't know the way out of problems and painful/uncomfortable feelings that just won't go away. That's when we need the support of someone who can help in a warm and caring environment.
You will find my approach to counseling is eclectic. What this means is, we can use a mixture of therapeutic tools based on your own needs. After all, we all have different backgrounds and have experienced different upbringings, cultures, religions, prejudices and home lives. So, after hearing your personal story and what you would like to achieve while here, you will have therapy that reflects your individual needs.
I thought you might like to know a little about the person you will be speaking with. When I'm not counseling, I'm most likely hiking with my two dogs, Baily and Emmy. I love being outdoors but not so much during the winter :) I'm married with 2 grown children and I have a grandson. Oh, and I love to cook. I find cooking for me is relaxing......it puts me in a peaceful zone!

Gale has been amazing in helping me. She goes out of her way to be there and show her clients she cares. She is clear that she is my therapist, not my friend, which is what I need, but at the same time, she took the time to make sure I had a session when I needed one, even when she was traveling. She is truly a skilled therapist.

As an expat living abroad (in a place where local options are few and far between), I have found working with Gale to be great. She listens, but isn't afraid to offer her opinion (which is an approach I appreciate, having dealt with one or two counsellors already). It's also obvious that she cares and she has a disarming approach. I would highly recommend her.

I am new to counseling, and was extremely skeptical as to how much it could actually benefit me, but Gale has been such a good counselor I couldn't have asked for anything more. She's helped me through my rough times, when I felt I was alone and lost. Gale has helped me to take a step back and put all the issues I spoke to her about into perspective - Overall, I'm extremely happy that I got Gale as my first ever counselor as she's is FAB! Highly recommend her to anyone, without any hesitation.

As someone who has put off therapy for a long time, due to feeling shame for going to one for some reason, this site has been very helpful for me. My counselor does not judge me in anyway, and provides me with useful short and long term advice. I am not doing perfectly, however I am doing so much better than before counseling. Who knows where I would be if I didn't take the chance to try therapy.

Gale is a godsend. I feel as though I’m talking to my best friend except I know Gale is going to give me advice that isn’t based off what I want to hear. She remembers the ins and outs of my life, names, events... all of it. It’s actually amazing! I love talking with Gale- even if it’s not some breakthrough conversation. She’s someone I can converse with who gets me and is knowledgeable in the same areas. I really hit a home run being matched with her!
