I was educated and trained in my home state of California. I'm a psychotherapist with 9 years of experience in Southern California and Missouri providing counseling and coaching to people of all ages and backgrounds. My approach is warm, open, authentic, and compassionate. I believe we all need non-judgmental support, empowerment, patience, and understanding to nurture a safe, trusted place to grow. My experiences are in treating a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, poor boundaries, relationship problems, LGBTQ, co-parenting, blended/step families, communication obstacles, career confusion, substance use/abuse, retirement adjustment, coming out, domestic violence, gender dysphoria, academic confusion, life transition stress, low self-worth, difficulty making decisions, lack of motivation, and more...
I have experience treating children, teens, transitional age youth, adults, and seniors...
My treatment philosophy is that the solutions depend on the problems which vary depending on the person. Having said that I commonly pull from Solution Focused, CBT, TFCBT for trauma, Emotionally Focused, Structural therapy, Attachment Theory, mindfulness based, non-judgmental self-compassion, psychodynamic, and more.
My treatment modalities are individuals, couples, families, and groups.
It has also been brought to my attention recently that I'm a pretty decent break up/divorce counselor when needed.
Whatever you need help with I'm honored to walk with you toward your growth and healing.
When I'm not counseling I'm playing guitar, writing music, lap swimming, writing, drawing, cooking, (inhale)....biking, volunteering on the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team, binge watching Netflix, enjoying a good laugh with my family, and quiet time with my pets (exhale)...
