I am a licensed counselor in the state of Michigan with a thriving online private practice. I have previously worked in a community mental health setting as a team-based therapist and case manager for over 3 years. Before my time as a part of the community-based mental health setting, I worked as a virtual case coordinator at a large health insurance corporation. I can provide services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns like ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem & confidence, stress, and life changes. I have a background in assisting people with substance use and abuse struggles [recovery and relapse]. I also helped many people who have experienced physical or emotional trauma and abuse in childhood and adulthood. I have experience in helping people with gender identity, sexual orientation, and other LGBTQA+ individuals can wrestle with. I am available for sessions on weekdays and weekends [both daytime and evenings].
My counseling style is warm, engaging, and nonjudgmental. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion. My eclectic approach utilizes different helping interventions from psychoeducational, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, existential, and boundaries development. I customize our interactions and your treatment plan to match your needs and goals. I love empowering people to learn new skills and techniques that will help them long after therapy has ended. I allow people to set their pace and goals for therapy to ensure that they get the most out of our time together.
It takes a lot for someone to recognize that they need someone to help guide them in fulfilling their goals and living an empowered life. When you are ready to make that move, I am here and available to support you all the way.
I look forward to working with you!

Genny is a great therapist, and complete understood what my goals are and keeps it real! Genny really understood my story and gave great advice on taking care of myself first and to use the tools/group sessions from betterhelp. Thank you Genny
I’ve only been with better help for a short time so my therapist and I are still getting to know one another. So far I really like being able to have therapy in this way. Genny is available and works with you.
It's great to have a therapist that actually cares about me and puts time and effort into the messages I receive between sessions, that help me to maintain the healthy practices we discuss in our sessions, throughout my week.
This was my first time in therapy and I was super nervous going in but Genny made it so easy on me she is incredible sweet and welcoming and a great listener. She made this experience a great one! Highly recommended!
Genny has really helped me connect patterns of my behavior that I need to continue to work on in order to better prepare my own sons for a successful fatherhood.
In the couple visits I’ve had her feedback has helped me to see things differently. In a good way, she is So understanding and brings such perspective to the situation,
While at the same time empowering you to know you are capable and that she’s with you on this journey.
She’s great! Thanks Genny!!!
I have anxiety especially about therapy but Genny makes me feel like I’m talking to a friend, except she has better advice.
I have been attending therapy sessions with Genny for almost two months and I am glad I made the decision to choose her as my very first therapist. Sessions with Genny always leave me feeling positive because she listens to me which makes me feel heard. I appreciate the safe and non-judgemental environment Genny fosters which has helped me open up more and be my authentic self. Since attending therapy sessions with Genny, I have improved in many of the problem areas that I initially struggled with and have developed strategies on how to overcome them. This is thanks to Genny's feedback and constant encouragement. She is truly an incredible therapist.
I began therapy because I was stressed out working and going to school, my goals were to work on communication, create more relationships, and becoming independent. I feel that I met my goals and I am more comfortable with myself. Genny was very helpful in helping me work through my issues because she listened and gave me great tips that have greatly improved the way I manage myself.
This has been very beneficial to me, thanks!

I haven’t been working with Genny for long, but so for it’s been good. She is understanding and very helpful and has made good recommendations on coping mechanisms with the problems I face.
I can't say enough positive words about the wholesome approach to my mental health that Genny takes. She is silly and serious, compassionate and confident, reliable and real. She relates to me personally and clinically allowing for a diverse mixture of emotional connection and comprehensive knowledge. We all need help keeping our mental health in check and supporting the growth of our emotional intelligence. For that, I highly recommend Genny amd Better Help.
Thank you for helping me survive the shit show that 2020 is and has been. Be kind to others and yourself.
I really didn't know what to expect. This was my first experience with a therapist, and Genny was amazing at making me feel comfortable through out the sessions, guided me through the resources, and answered any questions that I had. She's super responsive and thoughtful in our conversations. She's got a sense of humor and great empathy, which I really appreciate when talking about tough issues. Her experiences and expertise really comes through in her support and feedback.
Extremely constructive information and feedback. My goal with counseling is to get pointed in the right direction in a few visits and that is exactly what she has done.
Genny has been invaluable these past 5 months and helped me navigate a difficult time in my life. She's a great listener while also having a great balance of empathy and proactive suggestions. I highly recommend her.

She is so helpful and I use what she has helped me understand everyday.
Genny listens well and gets it!
Genny takes the time to listen to my concerns and makes me feel validated. She makes me feel like I am on the right path to healing. I can openly talk to her and trust her with my situations without feeling judgement. I was a little apprehensive about a virtual approach, but so far, I am really enjoying it. Genny provides me with documents that explain what I’m feeling and work sheets that help me work through some of my problems while helping me understand myself a little better. I am so grateful that I’ve started this program and can’t wait to meet the new me.
Genny is calm and gives me space to talk about anything, I talk a lot and she doesn't mind. She knows a lot about my conditions so I have a lot of faith in this process and am so glad I have engaged.

I enjoy my conversations with Genny. She gets what I say on so many different levels. She give me tactics and allows me enough time to think strategically of my own wellbeing. Such a great listener and advisor.
Great listener and very observant. Able to empathize with my situation. Encouraging and up-lifting. Sends supplemental resources for me to look at which can be helpful. Displays availability.
So far my time talking with Genny has been very helpful. She listens, and gives you different options that best suit how you feel most comfortable approaching situations. She's empathetic to your emotions. And she's super caring. She has even messaged me on a couple occasions after not hearing from me for a little bit to see how things were going. Will likely be continuing for a second month with this app, as it's been very helpful especially during this very stressful period of life! Thank you bunches Genny <3
Today I spoke with Genny about some real emotional stuff related to my home environment. She helped me understand things from a completely different perspective.
It has opened my eyes, the way I think and the way I view others (in a good way)
When I feel like I am hopeless and have no one to talk to, Genny and her warm toned voice just makes me feel like I am in a safe, secure and special place.
She is my go to and whoever has her as her counselor would need to thank their lucky stars because Genny Luppino is an absolute credit!
