About me

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I collaborate actively with my clients to create a unique, highly beneficial therapeutic experience that generates positive movement and progress in their lives. I am very passionate about providing others with opportunities to feel safe and comfortable enough to explore who they are and who they want to be. My goal is to help you become an empowered agent of change in your own life. With the right skills and support, we are all capable of living healthier and more satisfying lives.

Some of my areas of specialization include relationship issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, motivation and self-esteem. Most importantly, I believe in treating the individual as a whole, and this often means attending to numerous types of struggles. In short, I specialize in treating complex and unique individuals!

There are some key factors that tend to ensure a successful therapeutic experience, including feeling connected to your therapist, feeling heard and understood, and feeling respected as an individual with inherent gifts and strengths. I do everything in my power to create that type of experience so growth and transformation take place.

Some of the tools I use to help clients include insight oriented work, psychodynamic exploration of how the past is impacting the present, CBT, client-centered interventions and unconditional positive regard (aka: the wonderful work introduced to us by Carl Rogers), existential therapy (an exploration of the individual's sense of meaning and purpose), somatic awareness (exploration of the mind-body connection), and mindfulness. Most importantly, I try to figure out what each client needs, and I select interventions based on their personalities and the specific issues they are dealing with.

I'm looking forward to learning more about you so we can figure out together how therapy can help you!

Gina is a fantastic counselor. She is kind, patient, and compassionate. She provides a safe space to talk out all types of issues. It has been a pleasure to work with her this past year.

I have far too many kind things to say about Gina to respond to such a free-form prompt both succinctly and accurately, so I'll endeavor to accomplish the former instead.

Gina does exactly what a good therapist/counselor should do: she listens, she learns, and she patiently accepts you as you are, all in an effort to help you grow in the ways you decide are important to you. She doesn't assert her own judgment on you or tell you that something is or should be any certain way. She simply provides an incomprehensibly warm and open space within which you are allowed to be as you are. This openness allows you to explore your own existence, your persona, and all the intricate facets of your being with freedom and positive reinforcement.

She communicates well, works flexibly, and makes a genuine effort to understand your needs. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to dive into their own psyche alongside someone who will respect you and guide you with softness and honesty.

Best therapist I've ever had.

Gina has a way of providing the space for you to pull the answers you are looking for from yourself instead of providing them. She keeps things light when they need to be and subtly nudges you into finding new perspectives. I didn't realize how bad of a place I was in with myself and despite my world nearly flipping on it's head (even without a pandemic) it didn't feel so scary. Some therapists feel like an interrogation but with Gina it is more like a conversation with a trusted friend. Thank you Gina. Words cannot express how much you have helped me.
