About me

I know that the change process requires bravery, patience and a great partner. In 2005, I moved to Thailand to find new ways to manage anxiety and confront fears while living with monks, in farming villages and traveling. This experience was a catalyst for me in completing a Master’s Degree in Social Work to help others find change in their lives without having to uproot their lives.

As the former director of a behavioral health program at Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit, I'm passionate about offering creative and holistic approaches to help clients reach their goals more quickly. My clients will tell often say that my wit, compassion and insight helped identify and changing patterns of behavior and thought that are no longer working in their lives.

I have specialized training in depression, anxiety, substance use, insomnia and chronic pain. Ginger is a Certified Advanced Addiction and Drug Counselor, with training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and Chronic Pain (CBT-I). In therapy, I'll push you but always in a way that feels respectful and supportive to find your best self.

I like Ginger. She's my first therapist ever and has made the process really easy to get into. She listens and points out where I may not be noticing the good things and helps me get there. Really professional and helpful.
