Hi there! My name is Gretchen, thank you for coming to my page.
I have worked with a wide range of clients through their lifespan and at different levels of care. I first like to find out what YOU would like to work on to get the most out of your time here. I enjoy working on tangible skills to help alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as draw on client's strengths. My goal is to work with clients to "be better than better" and live their most authentic life.
I have a personal passion in working with women who are postpartum or dealing with a life change. I have received additional training in Maternal Mental Health and feel that the online forum can be a great way to work with women with little ones at home.
My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic and Strengths Based. I also enjoy looking at personal values with clients to find ways to make sure behaviors are in line with those values. While these are my most commonly used modalities, I will often tailor my approach based on your needs!
I obtained my MSW from Loyola University of Chicago in 2011, and my LCSW in 2013. I look forward to chatting with you.

Gretchen helps keep me grounded. Since speaking with Gretchen I have found peace in who I am and what makes me tick. My new philosophy in life is making sure my thoughts and behaviors reflect my values. It’s difficult at times to make sure those all align, but it’s thanks to Gretchen that I am making progress!
Gretchen has been awesome to work with. She was my second therapist through betterhelp as I just didn't quite click with my first one, something just felt off. With Gretchen I immediately felt more comfortable. She was willing to do sessions in whichever form was most comfortable/ worked best for me. I never felt judged, if I had a question about something she said or an assignment, she was more than willing to explain. She's always prompt to answering on the message board, never takes her more than a day. She's willing to use different tactics to finding solutions depending on what works best for her client instead of being stuck on one tactic, that is VERY important in my opinion. Sadly, I no longer need therapy, I truly enjoyed my time with Gretchen but it also means that she's done her job and she's helped me stand on my own two feet again! Pick her, she's a good one.
Gretchen is a wonderful listener and is always on time. I've only had 3 sessions with her but already see positive results.
