Life transitions, stressors, and relationships among other things can cause an array of feelings, thoughts and reactions (frustration, anger, loneliness, sadness, etc.) that may appear overwhelming to deal with on our own. Some of these things can get in the way of our daily lives or become too much to bear. Tired of feeling this way? Are you ready to break through those challenges and improve desired aspects of your life?
Every individual has their own unique story and I am honored and humbled when clients choose to share them with me. Establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship is a priority and sets the foundation for a promising therapeutic process for you to reach your desired goals. Through a collaborative effort and utilizing individualized interventions, we will address your concerns and provide you with the tools to help manage future life challenges. It is my priority to ensure that every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and offered a comfortable and safe space where they can share some of their most private and intimate thoughts. I work with clients from a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive lens. My approach to counseling is eclectic, drawing from theories and interventions that meet the individual needs of every person.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I am also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) which attests to having met rigorous education, examination, supervision, experience, and ethical requirements. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Florida International University. I have over five years of experience in mental health servicing a variety of populations including the homeless, former foster care youth, immigrant children and adolescents and also adults. I have worked with clients in an array of settings including subsidized housing programs, higher education, detention center, and private practice. Mental health concerns have varied from depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse, relational problems, anxiety, and anger management.
I look forward to listening to your story and how I can be of service to you!
