Whether we are conscious of it or not, we all live our lives my rules that have been formed by our past, creating patterns of behavior that influence how we interact with those around us. Someones we can get in our own way, limiting our growth, healing and restoration.

EATING DISORDERS & BODY IMAGE
Most individuals that struggle with disordered eating face ambivalence in therapy, like gaining weight, eating "normal" food and purging. As a result, engaging clients to make a change is a big part of treatment. Managing anxiety is another one. For many, life has often revolved around managing their eating disorder, often creating an imbalance in other areas of life. It also requires patience as the treatment can be long and often have bumpy roads. In addition to counseling, working with a licensed dietitian is also crucial for recovery and I can recommend several in the area that can provide assistance and nutritional support.

Acknowledging that you need help is never easy, but it’s one of the best things you can do for yourself. Whether you’ve decided to get help to control or moderate your alcohol or drug use, or just want to explore the role that addiction might play in your life, you are being proactive in getting help. Addiction is a family illness that inevitably alters the lives of everyone. I can help those suffering from their loved ones addiction as we navigate a new course with healthy limits and redraw our boundaries to include what is, and isn't, within our control.
I'm a graduate of University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, license # 7468-125) in the state of Wisconsin; as well as a certified Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, license #18624-130) having studied abroad in Scotland where I completed my addiction studies.

Gwen is awesome. Though we have only video chatted once. But thats due to me being sick and I would feel bad if I had to vomit during are live chat. But she responds to me in a timely matter. Gives me the advice I usually need to here to figure curtain things out. And the meditation videos and books to help me with my daughter are helping. Tho I've only tried the meditation a few times. Its does seem to help.
