Gwen Smithson, LMFT
About me
Hello! My name is Gwen Smithson.
I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 12 years . After graduation I worked at various agencies working with children, adolescents , and adults) until I met my now business partner, Debbie Rasmussen and together we took a leap of faith and opened Balance Therapy Center. a thriving private practice that caters to Couples, Individuals and Families.
My inspiration and passion for this work not only comes from years of education and my fascination with the human psyche, but also from the many twists and turns, dark and light, heartache and joy that this journey called life has taught me. The path to healing is continuous and never-ending.
I incorporate various modalities depending on my clients needs. . My goal is to welcome you into a safe place where together we will take the journey of self discovery, uncovering past or present issues that prevent you from living a more healthy, happy and balanced life!

Gwen really seems to care about helping my concerns and issues with a variety of methods and outside resources. We also communicate regularly through app messages for check ins, which make me feel extra support. I am glad to have had the opportunity to be matched with Gwen as she's really helped me.

If you’d like a therapist who is nonjudgmental, kind, caring, and professional, Gwen is a perfect match ! I’ve only had a few sessions with her but she has been such a great help to me. She really understands how I feel and how I can feel BETTER. She’s just great ! I’ve been looking for a friendly and nonjudgmental therapist, and she has been perfect for that :) 100% recommend <3
