About me

My practice is focused on the integration of grief and experiences into your life by using person-centered, humanistic, existential, and contemporary counseling theories serving individuals, families and groups. I grew up in a family of funeral directors and have many life experiences of loss, transitions, and resiliency. I have also lived in recovery for 35+ years. My specialty is grief and loss focused. I also work with Covid-19 Issues; Anticipatory Grief; Substance Use; Depression; Anxiety; Job Loss; Pet Loss; Transition; Marital and Relationship; Personal Growth; Retirement; Ageism; Life Coaching; Narcissistic Abuse Recovery and Womens Issues.
I was raised in a family of funeral directors and spent much time in my life learning about the grieving process and necessity for bereavement. I have experienced and participated in dealing with extensive losses in my family and the use of hospice and other services.

My education is varied as I have a BMus in Organ Performance; Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling; and two years of doctoral work in Counselor Education and Supervision. I spent 38 years working in the legal field in many areas of the practice of law representing plaintiffs. In addition, I was a Victim Advocate with a Sheriff's Department working domestic violence, suicides, and other issues that would come up needing an Advocate. I also have lived in recovery for more than 35 years and have an extensive background in addiction education and helping those with addiction issues.
