About me

Hello! If you are exploring Better Help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.

I am licensed in both Idaho and North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and licensed through the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICAADC) . My educational background is in clinical social work with an emphasis on substance use treatment. In my professional life, I have worked with adolescents and adults in various settings from wilderness treatment, community social work, to major medical centers.

My clients tend to be high functioning young adults that are struggling to cope with everyday stress, anxiety, major life transitions, or substance use concerns. In addition to helping clients to navigate life stressors, I also enjoy working with clients for proactive mental health check-in's in order to improve self-care. In regards to substance use treatment, I come from a view of curiosity and harm reduction. I work with clients that may be wanting to explore or ask questions about how their substance use may be impacting their lives.

*** I AM NOT A GOOD FIT FOR SOMEONE EXPERIENCING ON-GOING SUICIDALITY OR PSYCHOSIS *** I do not have enough availability to provide adequate care for you if you are experiencing on-going suicidal thoughts or psychosis.

My relationship with my clients is relaxed and friendly. It's important to me for my clients to steer the direction of our work. My own personal interests also include learning about personality types (Enneagram is my favorite) and am happy to incorporate this into therapy practice! At this time I am available via live chat or live phone calls.

My availability for sessions is Monday-Friday 8:15am-5:00pm PST. I am currently able to provide live chat and phone sessions.

Reviews

Hannah has been helping me through a very difficult family situation. She is a very good listener and has insightful advice that is easy to follow day by day. It can be difficult to make big changes and Hannah has been extremely understanding about the difficulties I'm facing. I don't feel like she's putting too much pressure on me and her pacing is excellent. I'm very grateful I'm able to have her in my life right now.

I have been working with Hannah for a few months now and it has been amazing! I don’t have a hard time talking about what I want to talk about and she remembers what was talked about and what I needed to work on. She can relate to some of the things I enjoy or worry about so it makes talking with her so much easier. I haven’t had the best luck with therapists in the past and will definitely work with Hannah for as long as I need

I very much enjoyed my time with Hannah. After my previous therapist needed therapy from working with me, I was pretty skeptical in finding someone who could actually help. Hannah has a laid back, client led style where I chose the direction I wanted to go each session. It's been a process, but I can feel the growth in my self confidence and overall improvement in well-being. Thank you Hannah.

I’ve only been working with Hannah for a month or two but through those two months, I’ve felt so seen and heard by her about what I’m dealing with and have dealt with. I appreciate that she validates my thoughts, feelings and experiences.
