Welcome, and thank you for connecting! I have 18 years of counseling experience with families, adults, and teens in community mental health. I have lived in Wyoming for 25 years, have 2 teenage children, earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2001, and was licensed to begin counseling practice in WY in 2002. I have a full work history over this time with individual adults and teens, groups, couples, and families in brief and longer-term practice. I have also been a Clinical Program Supervisor, Emergency Services Counselor in clinic and hospital settings, and am a Certified Mental Health Educator and Trainer. Process counseling in grief, trauma, stress, anxiety, adjustment, communication, relationships, drug and alcohol issues, and depression have been my focus. I have trained in the Best Practices of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). I have developed a strong practice that focuses on a persons strengths using Brief Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. There are many factors and layers that contribute to feeling unsteady and a desire for change. My training emphasizes understanding how our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors impact each other and how a connection to a healthy body and choices effects most everything we do. Therapy is a learning process for both of us: education, understanding, setting goals, and practice...you will want a warm, interactive, and inviting relationship with a counselor to walk through these changes with and I can provide that.
I look forward to practicing with you…

Heath has only been my counselor for a short time now, but he has already presented a ton of helpful information and is very good at paying attention to my own personal issues when they arise. I always feel like someone is here that will listen to me no matter the situation. He checks his messages daily and is very reliable and understanding.
Heath has helped me think clearly in a very uneasy time in my life. It’s like untangling my brain to help me make sense of what is happening. Without his help I truly would be lost.
Great listener, advisor and empath. Feeling the weight lifting every time I speak to him.
Prof. Miller's aid to me during my difficult time was instrumental in helping me rebuild my life. He was a caring, empathetic, understanding therapist that checked in with me continuously even when I didn't always respond. His expertise was so helpful and his compassion was greatly appreciated.
I am very satisfied so far with Heath and his attention to details. He has given me more information in two weeks than the two months I was going to in person therapy. He really knows his stuff!
Heath could identify within the first sessions what kind of approach I could benefit most from. I felt the sessions were giving me great insights and I like his connection to spirituality. He has a calm presence and responds effectively to messages. Many thanks to him for helping me understand myself better!
Heath has been a very reassuring and insightful presence in my life. I regularly receive key insights into my behavior and have lots to reflect on and start working with. I have found the tools he recommends and provides empowering and the methods simple and healthy. I would recommend Heath to anyone.
