Heather Meyer, LPC resides in Northern Colorado with her two daughters (14 years and 5 years). Heather earned her Master's in Community Mental Health from Adams State University and also holds a BS in Psychology. Heather has worked with clients of all age ranges with a wide variety of disorders, but has also specialized in child and family services. Heather has run a number of groups for adolescent and teen girls, as well as women, to focus on and build self-esteem. She also has certification as an Incredible Years parenting group leader. Heather holds certification in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is used to treat trauma in children, adolescents and teens; however, she has found that some of these practices also work well with adult trauma. Heather is also a contracted therapist with Building Warriors, a non-profit organization offering behavioral health services to first responders and their families in Colorado. Heather is a Christian and can provide some Christian based counseling; however, she understands that not everyone shares her beliefs and she only incorporates her faith in sessions with clients who specifically request it. Heather's goal as a therapist is to meet clients were they and to treat each invidivual client as just that, an individual. She realizes there is no one size fits all approach to counseling and different clients have different needs and what works for one may not work for another. Heather will work with you to determine your goals as a client and help you reach those goals in the way that is best for you.
In her free time, Heather enjoys writing, singing, modeling, acting, spending time outdoors, attending her daughter's sporting events and being active within her church.
Heather was crowned Ms. Woman Colorado United States 2017 and used her title to promote Mental Health Awareness (with an emphasis on teenage suicide) across the state. Heather is also a published author, writing the first book on Trichotillomania for children, "Where's My Hair? A Trichotillomania Story for Children".

Heather took the time to ask me questions and understand my issues. I actually felt like she was invested in helping me as a person. I'd recommend Heather for anyone who needs someone to talk to.
