I am a licensed counselor working in the state of Hawaii. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief and loss, severe mental illness, and eating disorders. I currently work in a private practice focusing on how the mind and body influence each other. In my practice, my clients vary, working with issues from adjustment to personality disorders and schizophrenia. My therapy practice focuses on both motivational interviewing and reality therapy, based in the here and now.
My experience spans from self care to depression to career change to yoga and meditation. Each client is treated uniquely, and therapy focuses on the needs of each individual. I treat clients with respect, fairness, and focus treatment on positive reinforcement and guidance. I use a gentle but direct style to help my clients find joy, direction, and specific interventions to develop an improved outlook. A journey of support and well being is a life everyone deserves.
The first step to change is often recognizing that change is possible. I look forward to working with you!

I have only been talking with Heather for a short amount of time, but she certainly seems to know what she is doing. She is very open and caring to what you have to say, but still comes at things with a realistic approach. Her questions help to get your mind on the right track and to think of possible solutions for yourself rather than being told how to go about doing things directly. I would definitely recommend her to anyone I know that is struggling with life choices and life direction!
Heather has been very helpful in breaking situations down into chunks that I can understand and respond to in a more reasonable fashion. It's been great to work with her!
Heather has been very helpful. She breaks steps down for you to follow easily and consistently checks in with you to make sure you are on the track.
She really helped me get through to a place I wouldn't have gotten too. Very understanding, encouraging and smart. Thank you so much for your help and guidance!
I've only been "working" with Heather for a short time now, but I find her responsive, well written, thoughtful and caring in her communication. She takes the time to read and understand any questions or concerns you might have and shows a genuine care of addressing them.
'Online Therapy' is in its infancy, to some extent, but it takes a Therapist with these types of attributes, and attention to detail to close the gaps and make you comfortable enough lay down on the proverbial (and virtual) couch.
Her care and concern is definitely felt and appreciated.
Heather is great. She's intelligent, positive, articulate, and has some great perspectives. She keeps coming up with new ideas, doesn't let you get away with sloppy thinking, and really thinks about ways to help. I feel lucky we were able to work together.
Heather is excellent. I would highly recommend her. She is always professional and takes her responses seriously. She is wise and real, and it's obvious she has experience and can easily relate and respond consistently to everyday (and not-so-everyday) situations and challenges, even those that might seem impossibly precarious. She won't necessarily tell you what to do so much as ask you open-ended questions to begin a discussion to discovery and improvements which are meaningful for you. I'm so glad I found her; so helpful, and worth it.
Heather pays attention, and while trying to understand the issue she tries to gather more information to help.
Heather is great to work with. She helps with so much. I couldn't be happier then to work with Heather.
Heather is great. This comes from someone who's had other therapists to compare. Heather is always so supportive, non-judgemental, celebrating every step of progress I've made. She has been so tremendously helpful when the days seem too dark or hopeless when I can't see hope myself. I'd highly recommend her.
Heather has been really helpful. She is very friendly and uses her own life experience to make you feel comfortable and provide advice. Everything she says is exactly what I need to here and if she hasn't heard from, she checks in. She helps me work on my personal goals a little bit at a time and you can tell that she genuinely cares about her patients' well-being.
Wonderful, helpful, listens well. Helps me put things in perspective.
Heather is awesome. I feel like I can tell her anything and she will not judge me, but only wants to help me to work through issues in a gentle, kind and positive way. She is insightful and realistic in her approach and I always look forward to writing with her.
