I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (NC #10893) with a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I have experience in community mental health, college counseling, and private practice. My specialty areas include anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, panic disorders, trauma, and depression.
I offer both short and long-term therapy and use a confidential, practical, and positive approach with adults dealing with issues such as:
Feeling stressed and overwhelmed
Depression and anxiety
Sexual assault/Domestic violence
My counseling approach is eclectic, systemic, holistic and humanistic. As a mindfulness-based, existentialist therapist, my goal is to provide the means and the guidance to support you in finding the internal and external resources to create the life you desire. Our work may focus on changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as taking a developmental look at where problems may have originated. Together, in a collaborative process, we will develop goals and interventions that are tailored to your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Heather listened and immediately got me. Thanks!!!
I have only been seeing Heather for a couple of weeks, but she has already been extremely helpful. She makes me feel like I am heard and that my feelings and experiences are valid. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs to be listened to and receive competent and helpful feedback and guidance.
Heather has been very responsive and great to talk to so far. I’m looking forward to our first live session next week.
