About Me
Hi! I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from USC and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah. I am a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for the Department of Transportation, and a Crisis Counselor for the State of Utah. I have worked extensively in areas such as addictions, domestic violence, crisis assessment and management, and LGBTQ populations. I am also a Field Instructor for several universities, including the University of Utah, USC, University of Phoenix, and Utah Valley University, supervising interns and those working on licensure.
My treatment approach tends to be cognitive behavioral in nature, but I like to tailor my approach to an individual's goals and particular needs. What that means is that I like to collaborate with a client to find active steps to take to better one's quality of life. It is solution-focused, and brief in nature. I believe that self-care and mindfulness are essential tools for quality of life, yet we aren't always taught how to do that for ourselves. My clients say that I am direct, yet compassionate, and that they feel validated and empowered to make needed changes in their lives.

Heidi is awesome!
She has been such an amazing counselor listening and always providing the best care
Heidi has been amazing- she has given me a lot of helpful tools and techniques to help me through my emotions and struggles. I've already recommended BetterHelp and Heidi, and this friend told me just yesterday she was paired with Heidi too and she likes her a lot already. I am very thankful!
Heidi is amazing. She helps me better myself and she makes me laugh while doing it. One of the best therapy experiences of my life and I am forever grateful. Thank you, Heidi for all you do and who you are!
I've been using the site for a couple of weeks now, and have found it extremely helpful to be able to off-load some of my frustrations which I am experiencing.I would recommend the site and services to anyone who feels that they need an independent nonpartisan service. My counselor is understanding and delves into the subject matter.
Heidi is very understanding, and makes me feel like my concerns are valid. She is very proactive at offering ways to help change your perceptions and ways of thinking through worksheets and other activities. I really appreciate her approach, and feel like she genuinely wants to find solutions.
