If you are here, you are hurting somehow. You want to heal yourself. You want that hurt and stress and dissonance to go away so that you are free to thrive. Wish you had a magic wand? So do I. But I do have a flashlight. I use it to put a spotlight on your strengths, to shine light in the dark corners of your life, and to guide you through difficult journeys. And I know when to turn it off, so that you can find your own light.
You’ll use your bravery, commitment, and knowledge. You are the expert on yourself, your pain, and what motivates you to grow. Teach me what you know.
I’ll use my empathy, education, and experience. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Smith College and I am independently licensed in the State of Georgia. I have many years of experience working with children and adults and I am skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Positive Discipline. I have experience helping people with a wide range of issues, including improving self esteem, adjusting to life's stresses, family relationships, parenting difficulties, anxiety and depression.
I am also dedicated to anti-racism. In addition to mental health services and parent coaching, I also work with white people who are ready to examine their own conditioning regarding race and racism and are committed to justice. You have a right to be heard, a right to heal, and a right to make positive changes in a space where vulnerability and shame will not be judged. I’m offering you an opportunity for individual guidance as you walk the path of personal growth. Although you did not create institutionalized racism, you inherited it – with pain and privilege – and I can help you unpack both. You can develop new capacities, thoughts, and behaviors to use as tools for disrupting injustice and building authentic cross-racial relationships and equitable systems.
I will use my belief in self-determination to help you remember that you are worthy and that you have power over your own life and your healing.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Heidi Wood. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Heidi is very professional, which I deeply appreciate. She is also very kind and empathic, reassuring, and analytical. She explains things very well and helps me sort what to work on and when to take breaks. I'm glad I found BetterHelp and that BetterHelp matched me with Heidi! :)
I think Heidi is an awesome counselor. She responds in a professional manner. She asks pertinent questions based on my responses. She really gets me thinking. So much easier to email a counselor rather than talking to a counselor on the phone.
Heidi has been awesome so far. Attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful!
Heidi is awesome!
I’ll start by saying I came here in a moment of desperation. Uncertain of what to expect and where to begin. Enter Heidi; Heidi is phenomenal. Since day one she has taken my concerns and focuses and not only addressed them, but has helped to guide me to a better understanding of self, and the bigger picture along the way. I have enjoyed and appreciated the immeasurable progress we’ve been able to accomplish throughout this process. Very thankful to have been matched with her.
I have been working with Heidi for about 5 months and can definitely see a big progress in myself and anxiety levels since starting with her. I highly recommend betterhelp now to all my friends and I feel very lucky to have met Heidi since we connected very quickly and I feel she understands me and her tips and tools really help me.
Heidi is wonderful. She does a fantastic job of reframing the context when I'm too close to the whole picture, and identifying the strategies and cognitive processes that will help in the future.
I can't speak highly enough of Heidi. She has helped me tremendously! She has helped me with what I needed at the time and also helped unmask things I didn't know I needed help with. I've never felt as comfortable and confident as I do now, thanks to her help. She's given me incredible tools to deal with anxiety and emotions and has helped me immensely with my self esteem and sense of self. She is very open, honest and incredibly effective at pinpointing and expressing issues clearly, and finding direct ways to work on them. 10/10!
Great job. Very patient and kind.
This time was very beneficial and I'm glad I got this counselor.
