About me

I love counseling. my interest in becoming a counselor began in my childhood when my brother experienced mental illness. While it took many years to finally get my degree and license, I also have years of life experience to complement my education and training. I offer my clients an accepting and non-judgmental atmosphere with empathic support and understanding. I have counseled people from many different cultural and economic groups and I seek knowledge and understanding of client concerns through their eyes and experience. As an Associate MFT I counseled both children and adults using modalities which are best suited for each client. I will seek your input in choosing the course we will follow and I will draw on my expertise to work as a collaborator with you to find solutions for your concerns . In addition, my goal is always to provide an environment that will enhance all aspects of your life.

If you choose to select me, I will respond within 24 hours of receiving your message and will strive to respond earlier. In order for you to have the best experience in counseling, I will ask for your cooperation with completing the forms and assessment paperwork in a timely manner. Together we will set goals that you want to achieve and measurements that we can evaluate your progress periodically. I look forward to meeting you!

There are so many wonderful things I could say about Helen. She is a professional, genuine, and kind individual. She has assisted me in comprehending and putting words to the emotional issues with which I have struggled for years. The work we've done has given me hope that healing and liberation are not only possible, but will occur in my life. I would strongly suggest her to anyone.

She will get you the answers you are looking for, and the answers you need. She’s amazing and I’m very thankful she’s the first therapist I matched with. She’s so full of wisdom and definitely is experienced in what she’s got in her bio. Love her!

I didn't have much expectation when I started using BetterHelp and seeing Helen. With that being said, she really surprised me in a good way. During our first session, Helen mentioned what she thought were my main concerns, and she was very accurate. Whenever I talk about those issues, she knows exactly how to respond to what I said so that she can show that she's listening and here to support me, but also to help me look at the situation bothering me from a new perspective. I've spoken to other therapists through my hospital, but they were never as helpful as Helen. They would either just listen and not offer any advice, or pretend to listen but end up giving responses that did not help me with the issues bothering me. I am glad that Helen was my first match when I started BetterHelp, it couldn't have been better! Helen is very good at her job and I'm sure that her other patients can say the same thing.

She’s great. She’s religious and I’m atheist but it’s never effected our counseling, in fact she gives amazing insight and great recommendations for getting better. I enjoy being heard and being encouraged to challenge myself, and she’s verbally rewarding when I do well.
