Hester Dejong

About Me

My name is Hester, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor (LCSW-S) and I work in Texas.
I graduated from graduate school in 2013, and I have been working in the mental health field since 2010.
My work experience is primarily in crisis intervention, I have worked for the a crisis line and answered Lifeline calls. I have worked as a social worker in a psychiatric emergency room, as a clinician in a county jail, as a clinical team leader in a jail diversion program and currently work for a mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT).
I have provided crisis counseling and brief solution focused therapy in most of my work settings. My work experience also includes grief counseling/support for families who lost a newborn or who are suffering from post partum depression.

My focus is on solution focused practices, what can we work on together to make you feel better? I'm a good listener, I do not have all the answers, however I enjoy working with a diverse population to see if we can work it out together.
You will notice that I'm honest, direct and have lots of life experience.

I'm looking forward to meet you, and work together short term or long term.

I’ve worked with several therapists and Hester is my absolute favorite. She listens deeply and turns me upside down (in a very good way). She makes me think differently and I’m making great progress.
