About Me

Welcome! It's a big step to seek out counseling, and I want to share about my experience so you can decide whether I might be a good match for your counseling needs.

I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle, following a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Florida. I have been working in the field for the past 17 years in a variety of settings -- ranging from inpatient, mobile crisis, and triage to community-based counseling, home-based counseling, and residential; and with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My passion lies in working with clients to uncover their true identity -- who they really are and who they can become once the weight of depression, anxiety, and trauma have been identified, processed, and lifted.

I approach therapy from a strengths-based, client-centered perspective, offering every client unconditional positive regard, respect, encouragement, and hope. Some of the tools I use include CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, knowledge of family systems and intergenerational trauma, communication skills, and mindfulness. Also, I believe that humor in therapy is seriously underrated (see what I did there?).

I am available for counseling by text, chat, video, and phone. We are a team, and my goal is to help you achieve your goals. My hope is for you to bring your whole self to therapy so that we can work together to help you feel as whole as I know you are. Let's do this.

Holly is amazing. I was very unsure as to how this type of counselling would go or if it would be of any help. I don't think I could have been given anyone better to work with. Holly listens. I feel like Holly understands what I am trying to say, even when I find it difficult to explain how I feel or what's going on in my head. Holly demonstrates her abilities as a therapist through her helpful advice and supportive words. I feel supported, and that Holly is here to help me. Holly has this ability to validate what I say, and consistently encourages me to share more of myself. I don't think I can say enough nice things about Holly. I look forward to continuing our work with together. I don't feel rushed to work on anything and I always have someone to turn to if I need help or just need to rant. We only are communicating through messaging right now, but I always get responses that day. Holly definitely puts a lot of care and attention into her words, and always ends her messages with something to think about. I appreciate Holly so much.

Holly is very good at listening and exploring what would be best for you. I have really appreciated her willingness to make teletherapy a safe space regardless of one's situation.

She’s nice, she’s a good listener and she’s never quick to judge. She validated my feelings

Holly is a great listener and always remembers what we spoke about. She really takes the time to get to know me and what has happened to me. She is very supportive and has shown me things that I cannot see for myself and given me so much faith in myself. She is great at looking at things from a different perspective and the advice she has giving me is amazing

Hi there potential Holly client! Holly and I are still relatively new to working together (one actual video session with lots of other text communication both before & after. I've got to say, this is working for me much better than I'd anticipated, and I'm quite looking forward to our next video session.

So far what I can attest to is that Holly is very much as her profile indicates - open, warm, gently challenging, and genuinely client centered (a rarer thing than you might think). Holly was a very good counselling choice for me I think, so if BetterHelp have matched you with her too, I'd suggest you run with it.
