My name is Holly Trimble, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of South Dakota. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University in 2011, however have worked with clients in the field of social work since 2000. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, addictions of all kinds, relationships/parenting, grief and more. Over the past 20 years working as a social worker I recognized that the most important aspect of counseling is the connection and comfort you feel with the counselor you choose to share your personal struggles. Often times it can be easier to talk to a person who is not in our immediate circle, who is objective about your situation and can offer a different perspective or additional support. I realize how important it is for all of us to feel accepted and understood which I believe I can help you with.
I tend to draw from a variety of theories and tailor therapy to fit your specific needs however my first course of action tends to go towards empathy and focusing on the solution . I like to utilize Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory and Self-Compassion models. It is important to be aware of a variety of tools, paths and resources available to you on your journey towards wellness. This is why I also value your feedback as we work together,
I am here to collaborate with you and together we will work to improve whatever struggles you may be going through. Some of what we may explore is your lifestyle patterns and how they affect the way you feel about yourself and how well they allow you to take care of yourself. You will learn new skills that can help you be more successful and explore thought patterns that can keep us from recognizing our own strengths and potential. We will find what works best for you however to get the most out of counseling it will be important for you to work on the things that we talk about in your day to day activities. Together we will develop attainable therapeutic goals in order for you to develop the skills to overcome any of life's struggles that you may be going through.
