About Me

Do you feel stuck by anxiety, depression, irritability or other overwhelming feelings? Do you feel like your life is out of control? I specialize in working with teenagers and young adults who need help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and chemical dependency. My approach is client-centered, flexible, solution-focused and tailored to your needs and goals. I am committed to providing a profound sense of safety and trust to all my clients. Therefore, my goal as a therapist is to accept, validate, and encourage you through your different stages of change. This is all to help you reclaim your life in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

In my past experiences, I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life. I became a culturally competent therapist, especially with ethnic groups who struggle with multicultural issues (intergenerational conflict, acculturation, immigration, and stereotypes/discrimination). I can provide therapy in English and Korean.

By using evidence based practices such as EMDR, we will look into your past and develop awareness and insight into emotional and physical well-being. EMDR is a great tool to resolve trauma related issues and build self-empowerment. I can help you heal your past and find your inner peace in the present time. If it is time for a shift in your life, I am here to support and facilitate the process.

Hong is amazing. He gives me great strategies to manage my anxiety and it really helps me work through my moods. I feel he understands what I’m going through.

Working with Hong has helped a lot with managing my anxiety and staying calm. The first thing I noticed when we started working together was that I felt safe and cared for, like I had a partner in my mental health journey. That’s priceless.

An amazing counselor, his exercises and worksheets will keep you grounded and is helpful in the long run.

Hong has a bullet proof approach to tackling a variety of issues. He is hyper focused on solutions not just the problems. I get regular video sessions where he helps me process the most complicated mental entanglements.

I get regular messages in which Hong checks on my mood and progress. Most of the time I don't need the help in between our video sessions, but it is really nice to have someone who cares checking in on you.

After our sessions, I typically feel relaxed and ready to handle difficult situations. He is my counselor but he seems like more of a friend. I would recommend Hong to anyone.

Hong was super helpful in guiding me through concrete ways to deal with my depression and anxiety. He taught me how to check in with myself and to really connect with what's going on with myself instead of spiraling.

I truly am blown away at how helpful my sessions have been and how easy they are to set up. Truly I’ve seen many therapists over the years while taking time to go to offices. This is easier and amazingly more helpful.

Hong has been very helpful. He has shown me a wide variety of techniques to handle the issues I struggle with, and he adapts what we work on together based on what has been working for me. I like that helps me understand and learn about myself, but also encourages me with actionable steps to deal with my immediate problems.

I really enjoyed how together we set goals, we set realistic expectations of therapy together, and we do our best to send me those goals.

Mr. Jeong is very helpful and insightful of feelings I display that I tend to overlook. I really appreciate his efforts and he really takes the time to hear about my feelings and what I go through. He also suggests and responds in positive and healthy ways that make me feel that I can overcome anything I am facing. He also is very responsive and gives a lot of worksheets which I find so helpful.
