Hope Anderson, LMFT
About me
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who has eight years experience in the field. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and I am currently licensed in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. I have provided psychotherapy in both outpatient and residential settings. I have experience working with individuals and their families with a variety of presenting issues, ranging from developmental life changes to complex trauma.
I believe individuals exist within the context of systems (e.g. marriage, couple, family, friends, peers, community, etc.). Further, I believe the systems we are a part of influence the relationships we have with ourselves and our style of relating to others. I believe we are hard-wired for connection and I attempt to work with problems, cares, and concerns from this lens. I maintain a trauma-informed approach and believe that understanding how the brain and body interact is fundamental to the pursuit of emotional and psychological well-being.
My overall aim is to create a safe space for individuals to explore, in depth, the story of their lives and the meaning they attribute to that story in a way that supports healing and change. Additionally, my hope is that the individuals I work with can exist in a space where they feel fully seen and fully known, perhaps for the first time ever.

Hope is really great in many ways. She always follows through and is very patient, understanding and enlightening. She works with my very strange schedule and is very prompt. While taking the time to keep an individualized approach, the soothing therapy is also keeping a goal oriented method alive. Very impressed with her and what she has allowed me to see in myself.
