About me

I am licensed in Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with 15 years of professional work experience and 5 years as a clinical social worker. The majority of my experience has come through helping clients cope with their substance use issues - whether they think they're addicted or just trying to find some answers. Many of my substance use clients have had traumatic events happen in their lives, so I chose to continue learning more about treating trauma. I'm now a "Certified Clinical Trauma Professional" and qualified to conduct EMDR therapy.

In addition to the topics described above, I've worked with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are young at heart, on their motivation, self esteem, confidence, financial counseling, work/professional achievement, life skills, coping with life changes, and so much more. Although I may have a degree and years of experience, I fully believe that I'll never be an expert on you like you're an expert on you. You have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Written on Sep 04, 2022 after therapy with Ian "Cole" for 3 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, grief, self esteem, and anger management

Cole is extremely knowledgeable in regards to mental health, substance abuse and human behavior. A big part of therapy is being able to discuss what is happening in your life. That said, if you are willing to listen, you will definitely learn some things along the way. Cole drops jewels regularly. Plus he is a good man to converse with.

Cole could respond more frequently with deeper responses - or questions - about what I write in Sessions. Sometimes he feels more like a cheerleader than a therapist who challenges me, which is what I want and need.

I should communicate this to him. I believe he would be receptive to it.

I’ve only met with Cole a few times but I can tell he is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience.
