Hi, there. I am a licensed psychotherapist who received her clinical training at Northwestern University and currently practices in the heart of Chicago. I have worked in the Psychology field for over 6 years and have much experience in working with clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem to name a few. Foundationally, I use a Rogerian approach with my clients, meaning I offer unconditional positive regard, actively listening/exploring, and recognizing/acknowledging that you are striving to do what is best for you. For interventions, I utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques such as challenging cognitive distortions, cognitive restructuring, and relaxation methods in order to support effective, goal-oriented outcomes.
I am really looking forward to exploring your issue with you and supporting you through it. Some people begin therapy because they feel they don’t know what to do, or they may even feel helpless. So first, I want you to know that reaching out was the best first step. Already you are showing me that you have what it takes. As we work together, I look forward to learning more about you and your feelings about what's bothering you. From there, we will work together to decide a game plan on what you would like to focus on. Then, I will guide you, explore with you, and empower you to you to make your issues less stressful and to be successful in your goals.
I want to remind you that I have likely worked with issues like yours for a long time, and I am confident that I can help you. I also want you to know that nobody knows your life more than you do, and with that you are “the captain of your ship”. You are resilient, you know what is best for you, and our working together will truly get you to the place that you desire. Do you have any questions for me?
