About me

Prefer help from a therapist who is also a part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community? Or worried that most therapists will not truly understand you or that you will have to censor yourself in therapy? I had these same concerns and they motivated me to become a psychotherapist and life coach who could help others like me. Whether you are looking for short-term solutions or more in-depth therapy, we will work together in a safe and relaxing environment to discover and actualize the solutions you need in order to live a more fulfilling life.

I am currently in private practice and have had clinical positions with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center and the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC).

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Israel Martinez. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Being new to the whole internet therapy model, I was quite skeptical about how it would work. I started working with Israel Martinez and he had been great. He is a great listener, makes great recommendations, asks great questions, and makes you think about yourself in whole new ways. He is helping me to stay on track with my goals and is a great therapist. I would highly recommend him. He is helping me a lot.

While e-therapy is harder than person to person therapy, Israel always knows how to ask the right question. Sometimes, I don't completely agree. But then again, Israel is part of the LGBT community, he is not an academic in the way he thinks about things.
