About me

Your well-being is my ultimate concern. Since 2003, I have provided patients around the world with a wide range of psychological and counseling services to suit their needs. Whether you’re an individual, a couple or a family looking for help - my therapy sessions are designed to strengthen your confidence, and assist you in the healing process.

In order to be healthy we need incorporate a holistic approach to our life and receive healing that considers the whole person - body, mind, spirit, cognition, and emotions.

I help people who are struggling with addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and many other behavioral issues using mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other types of cognitive restructuring. I believe in the benefits of equine therapy and often utilize art and nature in my practice.

I empathically treat victims of human trafficking and patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and am a trained practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and DBT and have leveraged these methods as part of comprehensive weight loss programs.

I firmly believe that no two patient experiences are exactly the same and use both traditional and eclectic approaches to customize your treatment and pull from various modalities in my work with both individuals and families.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a practicing Clinical Psychologist in Poland

Mrs. Szukielojc holds a Bachelors and double Masters Degrees in Psychology. Master of Science, Clinical Psychology from The University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Poland where, in 2010, she successfully published her dissertation on the link between family climate and indicators of substance abuse among 14 to 18-year-old adolescents and Master of Arts, Clinical Mental Health Counselor from South University in Florida, USA in 2017.

She is a practicing Clinical Psychologist in Poland and a Registered Clinical Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida, USA and expects to attain final certification from the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling in December 2019.

Professional Experience and Trust
Iwona has professional experience as a Clinical Therapist at Behavioral Health of Palm Beaches, as a Primary Therapist at The Watershed Addiction Treatment Programs, Inc and the Family Center for Recovery where she provided individual, couples, and family therapy to patients of all ages. She treated those who suffer with mood disorders such as depression and problems with alcohol or drugs (dual diagnosis) with tailored treatment plans for each.

She was responsible for implementing innovative Virtual Reality therapy for individual sessions and eating disorder group therapy at the Family Center for Recovery. During her internship at The Renfrew Center of Florida she provided individual and group psychotherapy as part of a multidisciplinary team to females with eating disorders and related comorbidities in Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient programs.

Iwona has extensive experience in the mental health field working at Levine Jewish Family & Children's Services and Margaret Manor Central Chicago. She also provides therapy for children on the autism spectrum when she worked at the Butterfly Effect in Florida and Behavioral Innovations in Kansas City, Missouri. She has high success rate both in helping children and adolescents with Autism and other developmental and behavioral disorders and adults that suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She also was Helpline Counselor at Switchboard of Miami and Chapman Partnership Homeless Shelter, Miami, Florida.

Iwona is a great counselor! She’s really caring and would work genuinely with you on the issue with no judgments, showing you possibilities and support to work on changing what you’re stuck at.
From day 1 when there was no spots in her calendar until a week, she knew I was so desperate to talk to a counselor, she made it possible and booked me a session right the following day and it was great, since then she keeps following up with me based on my needs, giving me tools to work on and improve and i look forward on becoming much better day by day
