Hello! My name is Mr. Jack Powell and a board-certified Clinical Social Worker and Clinically Certified Domestic Violence Counselor. I graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and have practiced clinical social work for 31 years. When help is needed, experience counts.
I specialize in Addiction and Mental Health Treatment. Other treatment areas I have worked in are Forensic and Domestic Violence issues. If you need help, I am here not only for you; I am here with you. Let me help make your life better.
I was in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1978, thus uniquely qualified to understand and help with Veterans issues, both active and Inactive.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I engage clients with empathy, compassion and competence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I really appreciate Jack’s time and insight. Jack is easy to talk to and has provided pertinent and valuable worksheets to answer that have lead to excellent follow-on discussions. His suggestions were spot on with regards to sharing certain information with my wife. Jack rocks.
