Dr. Jacob Glazier, LPC
About me
I believe in the power that language has to create and shape both worlds and identities. As a result, I take a narrative approach to counseling practice and work with clients to examine the way our languaging helps or hinders possibilities for health and flourishing. I am a counselor licensed in Georgia with over 9 years of experience. I have my PhD in Psychology and my MS Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have worked with clients that have had a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, career challenges, and life transitions. I also have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
I believe strongly in the person-centered foundations of the counseling profession and, as such, carry those values of empathy, warmth, and positive-regard into the counseling session. It follows that I work hard to treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion while shying away from stigmatizing labels and unnecessary diagnoses. Even though I’m primarily narrative in my approach to counseling, I can also draw upon my expertise in the psychoanalytic, humanistic, and transpersonal perspectives in order to tailor my style to you.
I'm so glad that you've taken the first step in pursuing a more hopeful future, and I look forward to walking with you on this journey!
